Local Food Growers & Producers Can Share Their Bounty at the Countryside Food Swap

Tue 7/18 @ 7PM

The Countryside Conservancy of Cuyahoga Valley National Park brings local food enthusiasts together in many ways. One of those ways is its monthly food swap, taking place on the third Tuesday of each month.

Attendees bring homegrown or homemade items — produce grown in their garden, baked goods, canned goods, jams or salsas made in their kitchen. The other participants then bid silent auction-style, but offering items in trade rather than dollars. The swaps let people sample foodstuffs grown/produced by other local people as well as trade growing and processing tips, and get to know others who are also into local food.

Each swap features a preparatory half hour, an hour for bidding, and a half hour to finalize the swaps. It’s free but you must register. This month it takes place at the Ledges Shelter in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
