Join a Vigil at University Hospitals to Protect Children’s Health Care

Sat 7/8 @ 6:30-11:30PM

With the Republican health care bill stalled in the Senate, the suggestion is now being floated by Trump and others that they just repeal the Affordable Care Act and “replace” it at some undetermined time in the future i.e. never, since they haven’t come up with a viable replacement in seven years.

In other words, they want to return the U.S. to where it was before the ACA, when its health care system, by far the worst in the developed world, was leaving people sick and financially ruined.

Ohio Senator Rob Portman is one of those who allegedly can be persuaded to vote no on this cruel, destructive bill if it comes up after the July 4th recess. It’s hard to tell; he’s purposely vague on almost everything. So this week, activists around the state will gather for vigils outside children’s hospitals in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland to emphasize one group that would be hard hit by repeal children.

The Vigil for the Vulnerable will take place outside University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in University Circle. It’s important to emphasize that this isn’t any kind of protest against the hospital. In fact, it’s in support of the work they do and continuing to provide access for all children to the care they provide. Come down and show Senator Portman how important this access is.
