Cleveland Orchestra Takes on 70s Folk Rock at Blossom Music Center

Sun 7/23 @ 7PM

The 1970s were known as the era of “soft rock,” in part because of a plethora of folk-based singer/songwriters who really weren’t rock & roll at all: artists such as Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Jim Croce and Cat Stevens, among many others. They provided the repertoire for an army of coffeehouse performers to this day.

So the Cleveland Orchestra won’t run out of things to play at “Fire & Rain: Folk Anthems of the 70s” at Blossom Music Center. Rob Fisher conducts the orchestra, and Florida-based married-couple duo of Al Swearingen and Jayne Kelli join them to provide vocals and guitar.

Tickets are $24-$99.
