Fri 7/28 @ 5:30-11PM
Birds, Bees, Brats and Beer is an annual fundraising party and special at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History that banishes the kids for a night, sorry (the “brats” of the title refers to bratwursts — either that or someone in University Circle is a real curmudgeon).
Partygoers meet up close with the animals kept in the Ralph Perkins II Wildlife Center & Woods Garden, including Linus the otter (his mate Lucy, unfortunately, died of cancer early this year), Lancelot the porcupine (that’s cute), George and Midas the eagles and more. There will also be night viewing (weather permitting) in the Shafran Planetarium, gift-basket and silent auctions and a live performance by Hey Mavis.
Yes, there will be beer (as well as wine) at a cash bar. The bratwurst banquet will, yes, offer vegetarian options for those who can’t abide eating animals after the tour.
Admission is $30 for Museum members and $35 for non-members. Budget for $10 parking for the Museum lot.
