Like most social/community dance events, the Chagrin Falls Contra Dance starts with a dance lesson to make sure that newcomers feel comfortable and have a chance to pick up tips from old-timers.
Not that contra dancing should intimidate anyone. It’s similar to square dancing in that movements are clear and repetitive and there’s a caller telling you what to do next. It’s something people of all ages can do and you don’t have to bring a partner because everyone dances with everyone else before the end of the night. Stomp Culture will provide live music for dancing at 8, following the lesson. It takes place at Chagrin Falls Township Hall in downtown Chagrin Falls.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for youth.
