The 12-week Wade Oval Wednesdays concert series at University Circle is a big draw any week with its wide range of rock, jazz, funk, soul, Latin, Irish and more.
One of its biggest draws every year is the popular local reggae act, Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band who provide the perfect soundtrack for this outdoor party/picnic/hangout on a balmy summer evening. The blanket, chairs and picnic baskets stretch unbroken as far as you can see and the lines at the concessions can be long.
But here’s a big warning to get down early to stake out your spot: the band’s date this year coincides with its pre-July 4th fireworks. And you know nothing attracts Clevelanders like fireworks — not even Carlos Jones. It should be the party of the summer.
