Spoken Word/Acoustic Music Program in Avon Lake Explores the Human Condition

Fri 6/23 @ 7:30pm

Alabama writer Frye Gaillard, the author or editor of nearly two dozen books, is known for his insights on the cultural, politics and personalities of the South. As an editor at the Charlotte Observor, he wrote about that city’s struggles to desegregate its schools as well as the downfall of its notorious evangelical couple Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker.

Gaillard is teaming up with a Yankee — popular Cleveland singer/songwriter/ guitarist Anne E. DeChant — for a program called “With Music and Justice for All,” taking place at the Avon Lake United Church of Christ. He’ll offer short readings from his work, which she’ll enhance with acoustic performances of her original songs, as they explore the commonalities in the human condition.

 It’s a $10 suggested donation.
