Reliably each year, the two-day Hessler Street Fair in University Circle brings back the peace-love-and-tie-dye vibe of the 60s. With homegrown and handmade local vendors — nothing with even a tinge of corporate origin allowed here — and bevy of beautiful people of all ages with flowers in their hair, it could be 1967 again. Not all of the music has a retro vibe but it all has a lovingkindness vibe, especially traditional Fair closer, Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band, who always gets them dancing on the old brick street. He even worked his magic on the weather, staving off a threatened storm.
