Welsh pianist/composer Gwilyn Simcock is best known for his work with veteran jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. He’s also played with such jazz powerhouses as Dave Holland, Lee Konitz, BobbyMcFerrin and Bill Bruford’s Earthworks. He’s fluent in classical music as well and has worked with artists and ensembles combining improvised and composed elements. He’s part of the Anglo-American quartet the Impossible Gentlemen.
In addition to all that, he’s got a solo career going with half a dozen albums under his own name. He’ll be standing on his own when he comes to Nighttown for a solo show. Tickets are $20.
