Cleveland Orchestra’s Star-Spangled Spectacular Is Back Downtown at Mall B

Fri 6/30 @ 9PM

The Cleveland Orchestra’s annual Star-Spangled Spectacular became a beloved tradition in its quarter-century at Public Square. In 2015 it moved to Mall B in order to accommodate the growing crowds coming downtown for the show — as many as 12,000.

So it’s back at Mall B again for this, its 28th year. Loras John Schissel will lead the orchestra in an evening of patriotic favorites and film themes, including music from Harry Potter, The Music Man and The Magnificent Seven. And guess what they’ll end the program with? What else? Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture! And fireworks, you ask? Yes. They would be mauled by an angry mob if there were no fireworks scheduled (weather permitting of course). There will be a Jumbotron for those stuck in the back.

Pre-concert activities, with food trucks, start at 6pm.
