Akron Art Museum’s Downtown@Dusk Expands in its Outdoor Garden

Thu 6/22 @ 6:30PM

As they go into their 33rd season, the Akron Art Museum’s popular Downtown@Dusk free Thursdays will have their first full season in the new Bud and Susie Rogers Garden, which opened last summer. And this year, they’ve upgraded the sound system and added a covered stage. Food will be available so that downtown workers can stay around and enjoy dinner while listening to the music.

The concerts kick off this week with Cleveland singer/songwriter Anne E. DeChant, who moved to Nashville in 2008 but comes back every summer for a series of dates, and run through 8/10. Other than DeChant, the series focuses on Akron/Kent-based favorites in a variety of genres including the Downtown@Dusk regulars the Numbers Band with their distinctive blues/jazz-influenced rock (7/6), the traditional country-style music of Shooter Sharp & the Shootouts (7/20) and jazz band Blu Monsoon (8/10).
