The Water Is Running at 4 Miles 4 Water in the Flats

Sat 5/6 @ 8AM-1PM

Drink Local Drink Tap is an activist group promoting safe local drinking water (now they tell us, Flint, Michigan says). And 4 Miles 4 Water is a sort of walk/run fund- and awareness-raiser.

Drink in, metaphorically speaking, views of downtown Cleveland and the Cuyahoga River waterfront, at Jacobs Pavilion in the Nautica Complex. There will be water education stations, food, raffle prizes and complimentary Great Lakes Brewing Company beer for racers over 21.

The actual walk-run portion of the event involves carrying jerricans of water for 400 feet of the four mile race — an estimate of how far people in less Great Lakes-endowed regions have to go for H2O.

Registration to run or walk is on the website. There is a $10 suggested donation just to attend the festival (dog friendly) for fun and enlightenment.
