It’s Time to Take a Walking Tour to Learn More About Downtown

Tue 5/16 @ 6PM

It’s time to get out and about and start exploring a part of the city you’ve never seen or to learn new things about places you’re passed a hundred times. That’s what the Take a Hike tours are for, and they start again for the season this week.

The tours, sponsored by the Historical Gateway Neighborhood Corporation, take place five days a week, with each day devoted to a different part of downtown. On Tuesdays meet at Old Stone Church on Public Square to tour the Civic center area. On Wednesdays, the group assembles at Constantino’s Market on West 9th to walk around the Warehouse District. Thursdays it’s PlayhouseSquare; meet in the State Theatre lobby. Saturdays you’ll find the group at the Arcade to amble around the Gateway District. And on Sundays, head down to the Flat Iron Café in the Flats to explore the Canal Basin. Look for the guide in the yellow shirt.

The tours are about 90 minutes long and feature costumed performers impersonating historical Cleveland figures. They’re free and no reservations are necessary unless you are coming with a large group. They run through 9/17.
