Hessler Street Fair Poetry Entrants Read at the Euclid Tavern

Tue 5/23 @ 7PM

One of the community facets of that annual throwback festival of music and crunchy-granola culture in University Circle, the Hessler Street Fair, is its annual poetry contest.

Entries are closed and the competitors have been chosen. The contestants, whose work with appear in an annal anthology which you can pick up at the fair (taking place 6/3-4), will now be reading their poems to cull the three winners who get cash prizes and the chance to read their work at the fair. The contest reading traditionally took place at the Barking Spider, a block from Hessler Street, which closed last fall. So it’s been moved not very far — a block in another direction to the Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern.

Pictured is last year’s ebullient winner, Rosemarie Wilson.
