“Urban Exploring: Photographing the Abandoned” is the title a talk by North Olmsted-based photographer Glenn Petranek at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge.
A frequent exhibitor at arts shows, Petranek specializes in urban scenics and cityscapes but also has a passion for the “urban exploration” aesthete — taking pictures of deserted human habitations and empty, often decaying buildings — and Cleveland has plenty of them.
He’ll tell of his adventures, techniques and maybe a few cautions (legal-wise and safety-wise) about undertaking such camera expeditions yourself. Petranek’s appearance is part of a Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society monthly meeting. Admission is free; non-members welcome.
