Akron Symphony Chorus Performs Mother’s Day Concert for Its 60th Anniversary

If you’re looking for a place to take mom other than an overcrowded brunch, how about making her breakfast at home and then taking her to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron where the Akron Symphony Chorus will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with a performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs based on poem written by British poet George Herbert. The piece features soloist, baritone Elijah Blaisdell.

The chorus will also perform the hymn “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, with Julie Lehman on organ and Gustav Holst’s Two Psalms – Psalm 86. Marie Bucoy-Calavan directs the chorus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children.
