Zaina Gallery Hosts Casual, Fun Benefit for Refugees & Immigrants in Cleveland

Thu 4/27 @ 6PM

Currently, Zaina Gallery at 78th Street Studios is showing large-scale photos by young photographer Amber Ford of refugees and immigrants who have come to Cleveland from all over the world — places the Syria and Nepal and Central Africa. (A lot of them are pictured cooking, showing how much of a comfort it is to be able to prepare your familiar foods).

Tonight the gallery is holding a benefit for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants to aid resettlement services here in Cleveland. There will be open-mic style performances by poets and musicians, tarot card readings, raffles and light refreshments. Karin Wishner of the USCRI Cleveland Chapter will talk a little about their work.

Admission is a $5 suggested donations, and they are also accepting donations of household goods for newly arrived families. Go here for a list of what they need.
