With freeform structures and sound exploration, Maple Lanes hosts a night of free improvisation featuring the saxophone, bass and guitar trio Roughhousing. “Some might think this is pure dissonance, until you realize it’s all synchronized close listening to each other from so many hours of playing together.”
In addition to Roughhouse, three more bands will play. Out jazz saxophone, bass and drums group, Mars Trio have an insatiable thirst for energy and expression. Through electronics and incantations, Amanda Howland/Pauline Lombardo/Kristen Drake create dark, expansive sound worlds. Electronic rock band SSS creates intense, eclectic compositions.
