Kent State: Death and Dissent in the Long Sixties is a new book by Thomas M. Grace, who comes to the main branch of the Lakewood Public Library for a special presentation.
And he knows whereof he writes; Grace was one of the students wounded by shots fired on May 4, 1970. He is now an adjunct professor of American history at Erie Community College. Grace’s account has been acclaimed for not just turning Kent into a simplistic, partisan view of heroes and villains, as he delves through the many myths and lies surrounding the event.
Admission is free. Books will be available for sale and signing.
