Dig This: A Groundbreaking Earth Day Ceremony for the Towpath Trail

Towpath

Sat 4/22 @ 9AM

You are invited, as Canalway Partners, the City of Cleveland and numerous other civic groups specializing in green-minded development, converge near Tremont to mark the latest phase in the Towpath Trail construction.

This is a B.Y.O.S. event — Bring Your Own Shovel. Attendees will meet at Clark Field near Steelyard Common, on Earth Day morning (significantly) to turn over soil for the Stage 3 inception of the Towpath project. This Trail Extension, to be used by cyclists, joggers, hikers and dog-walkers, will run 1.9 miles from Steelyard Commons to Literary Avenue.

Participation in the ceremony is free and open to all (with shovels, of course). Visitors get extra credit for wearing the commemorative shirts generated through the lifespan of the project, paying tribute to the Flats, the Ohio and Erie Canal, the Cuyahoga Valley or other illustrious Towpath tie-ins.
