Jeffrey Zeigler isn’t your run-of-the-mill classical cello player even though he studied at such respected conservatories as the Eastman School of Music and Indiana University where he studied with the legendary Janos Starker.

But his passion is for pushing the pocket of contemporary classical music in all directions. He’s premiered works by such avant-garde, boundary-busting artists as Terry Riley, Steve Reich and John Zorn as well as Damon Albarn of Brit-pop band Blur. He’s collaborated with such artists as Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson and Tom Waits. And he spent eight seasons with the Kronos Quartet, an ensemble that specializes in presenting new works.

He’ll be performing at the Transformer Station. Tickets are $25, $22 for Cleveland Museum of Aert members.
