PHOTOSTREAM: ST. Patrick’s Day Parade by Anastasia Pantsios

Fri 3/17

No matter what the weather, tens of thousands of Clevelanders turn out for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. This year, it was kind of cold, but at least the snow and rain held off until late afternoon, allowing parade-watchers decent weather to show off their green accessories and watch the delegations make their way down Superior Avenue toward PublicSquare. As usual, the parade featured lots of Irish dance schools, high school marching bands, military and first responders groups, and labor union floats, along with such regulars as the East and West Side Irish Clubs, Irish Wolfhound and Irish setter clubs (and City Dogs, with their adoptable animals scouring the crowd for their forever homes), and parade staple Weed Man. New this year: Alpacas from an alpaca farm in Perrysburg added to the number of adorable animals available to pet.
