Gibson Brothers Bring a Dose of Bluegrass to Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall

Gibson Brothers

Fri 3/24 @ 8PM

Yet another acclaimed bluegrass ensemble, influenced by the traditional music of Bill Monroe, the Louvin Brothers, the Stanley Brothers, and Flatt and Scruggs, finds their way to Peninsula’s G.A.R Hall this weekend. Fronted by the brother duo of Eric and Leigh, who of course began playing together at a very young age — don’t they always? — they began to make their mark in the late ’90s when they were named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Emerging Artist of 1998, following four albums released in the mid-late ’90s.

They’ve stayed busy with a catalogue that now includes a baker’s dozen albums, many on such respected indie/roots labels as Compass, Sugar Hill and Rounder. That includes their recent release, In the Ground, on Rounder.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
