Fri 3/10-Sat 3/25

Blank Canvas Theatre founder and artistic director Patrick Ciamacco takes the reins for the opening production of the small ensemble’s 2017 season. The musical Floyd Collins, which debuted in 1994, is based on some unlikely material: the true 1925 story of a man who got trapped 200 feet underground while pursuing an attempt to turn a Kentucky cave into a tourist attraction. Rescue attempts riveted the nation and created a media frenzy but Collins died before help could reach him.

Michael Snider, who recently moved to Cleveland, is Floyd in his first role at Blank Canvas. Matt Dolan is responsible for music direction. It runs through Sat 3/25. Tickets are $18.
