One of the happy side effects of the recent Republican assaults on women’s reproductive freedom — nowhere more so than in Ohio where the legislature continues to waste time it could spend on issues such as jobs, health care and education looking for ways to limit access to abortion — is the outpouring of support for organizations that provide access to all types of reproductive health care.
The Cleveland-based abortion provider Preterm has expanded the range of services it provides while working actively to make sure that less affluent women have the same choices that wealthier women do. One of the ways it funds this is through its annual Preterm Access Fund Bowl-a-Thon, taking place this year on Thu 4/27.
To kick things off, Preterm will be hosting a pair of Bowl-a-Thon Launch Happy Hours at the Happy Dog in Gordon Square and the Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern in University Circle where you can meet the event organizers, find yourself a team and register to participate. There’ll even be a trivia contest at 6pm focused on abortion, sexual health and reproductive rights so bone up!
