Writer David Ensminger has been writing about punk rock for many years. His passion for the sound and the scene has produced such books as Left of the Dial: Conversations with Punk Icons(2013), The Politics of Punk: Protest and Revolt from the Streets (2016) and the new Out of the Basement.
Ensminger is booked to talked at Mac’s Backs in Coventry Village about punk rock and the activism of today. And we’ve learned that this evening just got livelier: Cleveland punk rocker Tony Erba of Fuck You Pay Me will be on hand to join Emsminger and talk about “politics, Midwest hardcore, stock tips, the true story of Joe Charboneau and butt stuff” before heading over to Now That’s Class for a gig with Kill the Hippies, Chromosome Damage and Shagg.
Erba has also revealed, “We will try to do a conference call with Mike Hudson of the Pagans and Cheetah Chrome continuing their bitter feud piped over the PA.” If you follow either of these Cleveland punk rock legends on Facebook, you’ll know what he is talking about. The event is free and open to all.
