Oberlin Conservatory Students Bring Their Original Projects to the BOP STOP

Hatchling

Wed 3/1 @ 7PM

Like the area’s other music schools and programs, the Oberlin Conservatory provides a wealth of opportunities for Northeast Ohioans to hear outstanding musicians, both students and faculty. Tonight at the BOP STOP, two student groups who write and play original music, will perform.

Classically trained musicians Aliya Ultan (cello/vocals) Carson Fratus (percussion/vocals) formed Ultus just last summer as an outlet for their own writing but they’re moving ahead quickly, with plans to release an EP called Moon Country this year.

Hatchling is even newer, coming together this past autumn, with music grounded in meditation and improvisation. It includes Jared Isinglass on sax and woodwinds, Matthew Frerck on bass and Orion Krause on drums.

Admission is $10.
