Newly Revived Puppetry Guild Visits Talespinner Children’s Theatre

Puppetry

Sun 2/19 @ 2-5PM

Last month was the first meeting of the newly reborn Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio, a group founded in 1975 but dormant in the last few years.

This month the organization is hosted by someone who is Cleveland’s #1 evangelist for puppetry: Alison Garrigan, founder and director of Talespinner Children’s Theatre.

The group will meet at the Talespinner Theatre in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood, where they can see some of Garrigan’s puppets on display in the lobby and learn how she has build her puppetry skills and incorporated them into the theater’s productions.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of their level of expertise and experience with puppets. The group will also be brainstorming ideas for their World Day of Puppetry in April. If you like, bring a puppet or puppet-related item for show and tell, or something for the “Puppet Swamp.” Or come empty-handed and open-minded.

For more information, you can call Vincent Polowy at 440-413-3580.
