Former Seafair Frontwoman Chayla Hope Gathers Female Musician Friends for an Evening at the Grog Shop

Fri 2/24 @ 9PM

For several years, Seafair, fronted by keyboard player/vocalist/songwriter Chayla Hope, with her big voice and charismatic presence, were one of the hottest bands in town. They were packing rooms with their dense, anthemic sound that combined strings, keyboards and your usual guitar/bass/drums. After debuting in 2011, they released a pair of EPs and an album called The Querencia in 2015.

Alas, in the middle of last year, they went their separate ways. And while we await the next chapter in Hope’s musical journey, she’s getting together with some other talented women from the local music scene for a “Chayla Hope & friends” show at the Grog Shop.

Also on the bill are cellist/vocalist Shelby Lynn Sangdahl, who performs with Oldboy and Shawn & Shelby; the brusque, intense Maddie Finn, who won the High School Rock Off in 2010 and now performs with her band the Whiskey Hollow; and Kimberly Haffey, who in addition to being a performer (she plays bass with the Rainbow Emergency), is a music therapist at the Music Settlement.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
