Find a New Orleans-Style Mardi Gras Party at Brothers Lounge or G.A.R. Hall

MardiGras

Tue 2/28

It won’t be hard to find a Mardi Gras party somewhere around town. But if you’ll like to enjoy one with some New Orleans-flavored music, here are a couple to try.

At Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall, the party will be getting in full swing early with Akron zydeco band Mo’Mojo. Doors open at 6pm, and the band will play from 6:30-9:30. The place will be decorated Mardi Grass-style and they’ll set up a dance floor of course. There will be Louisiana food, King cake, and Splashy Mardi Gras drinks available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

There’s also a Mardi Gras bash happening at Brothers Lounge on Cleveland’s west side, featuring the New Orleans-influenced party music of Daddy Longleg’s Homegrown Revival. The ensemble, fronted by Davidione Pearl, features a revolving cast of players to create a polyglot sound that incorporates funk, reggae, Latin music, gospel, soul, rock, jazz and world music. Doors open at 7:30; music starts at 8. Admission is $5.
