Fri 2/24 @ 8PM

Although he can’t use the name in his advertising for legal reasons following a contentious split with the group in 2012, Geoff Tate is best known as the vocalist for progressive metal band Queensryche from 1982-2012 which is why his current tour is dubbed Geoff Tate: The Whole Story “Ryche.”

From the mid 80s through the mid 90s, the Seattle band produced three platinum and two gold albums and continued to tour off the popular songs from those albums, including 1988’s Operation: Mindcrime. Tate is performing songs from all 17 albums he’s sung on, the most recent being last year’s Resurrection. He’ll be backed by a seven-musician acoustic group playing instruments such as mandolin, violin and cello, which should add a new dimension to those old heavy metal tunes.

They’ll be at the Kent Stage. Tickets are $27 in advance, $32 at the door.
