PD Plays Up What’s Really Important to People with Its Cutest Cat Contest

“Don’t you dare think of taking me there!”

Want to see mass chaos and confusion and maybe even some death by feline? We don’t normally promote things other publications are doing, but the Plain Dealer’s Cutest Cat contest has the potential to rival even the Cleveland Indians’ legendary 10 cent beer night.

You can simply send in a photo by January 24 to enter your cat in the contest. Or — if you are brave and/or reckless — you can bring him/her to the Plain Dealer office at 1801 E. Superior Avenue on Sat 1/14 where PD staffer photographers will take a picture of your cat.

While it specifies that “All cats must be inside a carrier other than when they are having their photograph taken,” we still see enormous potential for mass hysteria. In any case, the hissing, growling and shrieking should probably reach the farthest corner of all the counties whose resident cats are eligble: Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Summit, Portage, Lake and Geauga.
