Is your child one of those kids who’s always inventing plays and corralling her siblings into performing them in the basement for mom and dad (and if she’s resourceful, charging them)?
You might want to sign her up for Stage Write, Lake Erie Ink’s two-session playwriting workshop for kids, taught by produced playwright Catie O’Keefe, a member of Dobama Theatre’s Playwrights’ GYM. She’ll guide the kids as they write, read and polish their work, and prepare it for submission to the annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids Playwriting Festival, open to all elementary and high school students in Cuyahoga County. (There are age brackets so first graders don’t compete with high school seniors). The winning plays are produced at the festival during the summer.
