Sat 2/18 @ 3PM-1AM
Once again, Cleveland’s winter music and art festival Brite Winter will be back in the Flats where it moved last year after outgrowing its four-year home in Ohio City. (It began as a germ of its current self in another part of the Flats in 2010.) With events and installations in a variety of locations on the Flats’ west bank, both indoors and out, it takes place Sat 2/18.
Two years ago, the festival has refocused on the abundant selection of location talent in our backyard, rather than mixing in touring acts. It’s just announced its lineup for this year, and it’s continuing that policy with some top local talent as well as newcomers.
Performers include The Lighthouse and the Whaler, the Modern Electric, Ottawa, Wesley Bright & the Honytones, Archie Green with Uptowne Buddha, Signals Midwest, Runaway Brother, Morgan Mecaskey, So Long Albatross, Mourning [A] Blkstar, By Light We Loom, Tim Moon, Midnight Passenger, Walker OG, Ex-Astronaut, the Whiskey Hollow, Ageless Males, Extra Medium Pony, Forest & the Evergreens, Muamin Collective, Throw Shade, the Ohio Weather Band, Shawn and Shelby, Montage, St. Lenox, Jul Big Green, Chris Milam, Brent Kirby & His Luck, Megan Zurkey, Punch Drunk Tagalongs, Doc Robinson, Brujas Del Sol, the Village Bicycle, School of Rock, Holden Laurence, Austin Stambaugh, Bro Dylan, Front Porch Lights, These Violent Young Lovers.
Art will be provided by Dia de Muertos Ohio, Sankofa Fine Art Plus, Negative Space Gallery, Robin Heinrich, The Fire + Light Peforming Arts, Andrew Kaletta, MXLXTXV and RGI Inc.
The festival is free.
