Look: like it or not, coal is not coming back and fossil fuels are not the future. And despite the promise of the president-elect to drag us backward so that we lag the world in new energy development, smarter individuals, businesses and organizations are looking ahead to a clean, renewable energy future — even in Ohio where our legislature is working to block the expansion of renewable energy.

If you don’t know as much as you’d like to about this, YellowLite, a Cleveland-based company which specializes in solar- and wind-powered energy systems for all types of customers, will be giving a solar informational talk at the Lakewood Public Library. YellowLite’s communications manager Ryan Veith will give a presentation on how solar can address your energy needs, while Berea resident John Wolter will talk about what it was like to go solar. And a YellowLite senior solar consultant with be on hand to quote costs and financing to people who are interested in joining the move to an energy future. If you think you’d be interested, bring your electric bill to give them a baseline idea of your use.

The program is free and open to all.
