Geri Presti Tapped to Head the Music Setttlement

Maura Hughes, the chair of the board of trustees of the Music Settlement, has announced that Geralyn “Geri” Presti as their new president and CEO, effective January, 2017.

As a music student, Geri studied voice and piano at the Music Settlement for many years, then after college she returned to become a TMS music therapist. Later she returned again to serve as a board member, serving two terms as Board Chair and co-leading the Music Settlement’s 2012 Centennial Celebration.

Geralyn Presti currently serves as General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Secretary at Forest City Realty Trust, Inc. (formerly Forest City Enterprises), responsible for all legal affairs and an important co-leader for the company’s reorganization and transition to a Real Estate Investment Trust.

Geri also serves on a number of boards, including the Sisters of Charity Foundation, Tri-C College, Business Volunteers Unlimited, and the national board of the Society for Corporate Professionals. Her recent honors include the 2010 YMCA Women of Achievement Awards, the 2013 Athena Award, and 2015 Humanitarian of the Year from The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio.
