News Flash: Horseman Downsized in Bad Economy, Must Go Headless in Valley View Halloween Special

Sat 10/30 @ 7PM

Washington Irving’s short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is now mythic Americana. It has inspired a classic Disney cartoon, live-action movies fronted by Tim Burton and Will Rogers, and even a recent TV series.

But imagine the original ghost-or-was-it tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, as generations of Americans experienced it, in an authentic century-barn atmosphere. That’s the Halloween treat offered by the Lantern Theatre in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a theatrical troupe whose venue is a repurposed 1905 red barn on a working farm in Valley View.

A full cast will bring the 1820 tale to life in a costumed reading, accompanied by atmospheric songs, cider and ambiance, good for all ages.

Admission is $12 for the general public and $8 for little ghouls 12 and under.
