Who doesn’t love ferrets? They are such playful, adorable little critters! Well, former New York mayor and current Donald Trump mouthpiece Rudy Giuliani, for one. He famously had a meltdown when a man called into his radio show in 1999 to ask him about lifting New York’s ban on ferret ownership, ranting, “This excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness. You should go consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and have him help you with this excessive concern, how you are devoting your life to weasels.”
But you aren’t Rudy Giuliani and if you think ferrets are just too cute and fun, come on out to northeast Ohio rescue group Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services Ferrets by the Lake open house and fundraiser at Paws by the Lake Pet Resort in Avon Lake. There you can meet shelter ferrets (who will not take kindly to being called “little weasels”), hear a veterinary speaker, participate in raffles and a photo contest, shop vendors and enjoy light refreshments, all while being entertained by the antics of these amusing pets.
