St. Paul’s Community Church in Ohio City is hosting a one-night coffeehouse to bring people from the neighborhood together and to emphasize the importance of voting, as well as raise money for its ministries.

Gabriel Xavier Bly-Wolf (pictured), described as a “musical provocateur” will play flamenco and classical guitar music partially inspired by his trip to Morocco. Reggae and blues performer Dave Deitke, country/folk artist Austin Stambaugh and folk rocker Michael Mcdonald will also play along with It’s All Good, the St. Paul’s house band, doing gospel and traditional pieces.

Akron’s Critical Fork will have food samples to taste and the Ohio Organizing Collaborative will be on hand to talk about the election and energy issues. Presumably they will have voter registration forms there too; you can register through Tue 10/11. It’s an all-ages event and admission is by free will donation.
