Louisville, Kentucky folk performer Joan Shelley creates the type of reflective, earthy, carefully constructed songs that win high praise from “serious” publications and much love from NPR which has featured her on their Tiny Desk Concert. Her pure, unforced soprano is the sort of instrument that’s won over folk fans since the days of Joni Mitchell, Buffy St. Marie and Judy Collins.
Shelley released her third album Over and Even last fall, cementing her reputation for creating music that’s both thoughtful and accessible. She’ll perform at the Kent Stage. Tickets are $10.
