Fall festivals seem to be made for kids with the crisp weather and the weekend escapes from school getting their juices flowing. The Pumpkinville in the Valley one-day festival at the Olmsted Historical Society’s Frostville Museum is a great place to let them blow off steam.
The (mostly) free event includes games, an obstacle course, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin crafts, balloon twisters, a photo booth, face painting ($2), pony rides ($3), horse-drawn wagon rides ($6 adult, $4 child) and music by the humorous old-time folk band the Smokin’ Fez Monkeys.
On the more laidback side, you can check out the train display, the historic homes and church, and the display barn and general store. There will be corn roasting and cider, baked goods, tacos, brats, hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream for sale. All proceeds will be benefit the project to build the Frostville Village Schoolhouse.
