Looking to go out on a Wednesday evening and do something kinda laidback? Blu Jazz Akron’s Wednesday solo piano showcases are the perfect thing to do.
Each week one of the area’s topnotch jazz pianists takes over the stage to do their thing. This week it’s Joe Hunter who has been part of the area music scene for nearly four decades, performing with various ensembles and projects including the Musical Theater Project’s The Song Is You! Series, paying tribute to great 20th century pop songwriters and swing band Red Light Roxy, as well as his own Joe Hunter Trio.
Come down to Blu Jazz, order a cocktail and something to munch on and listen to him stretch out. There’s no cover.
