We know that our cool readers would not be caught dead at a big box store on Black Friday, right? We expect not to hear that any one of you trampled another shopper trying to save $150 on a big-screen TV at the Steelyard Commons WalMart.
But some of you may find yourselves in the holiday spirit and thinking about the gifts you need to buy. You’re in luck! It’s not Third Friday, but a bunch of the galleries at the 78th Street Studios will be open for business today from 3-7pm. There’ll be art on display and for purchase, ranging from the high-end to the very affordable. Stop in and find presents no one else will be giving.
So sleep in after Thanksgiving Day, have a leftover turkey sandwich, and then mosey over in to check out some of the building’s most intriguing galleries, including E11even 2, which currently has a show of art inspired by the film A Christmas Story.
Other galleries and businesses that will be open include Art Neo, Bent Crayon, Bunny Paige, Cleveland West Art League, Derek Hess Gallery, Eileen Dorsey Studio, Gallery +, Hedge Gallery, Kokoon Arts Gallery, Michael Greenwald Gallery, Pugsley’s Room, Popeye Gallery, Ron Johnston Studio, Susie Frazier Show Room and Tregoning & Company. Some will be offering special discounts, and there will be artist demonstrations and a raffle as well into which you’ll be entered if you spend $50 or more anywhere in the building.
