Mobile, Social, Local

Watch out. Everyone’s coming, claiming to be mobile, social and local. That’s OK. At Cool Cleveland, we’ve been social and local for just about 10 years. And mobile for over a year, with our app just dying to find it’s way onto your iPhone or iPad or Android phone or tablet. And it’s all free, to boot.

So join us. We’ve got a story and a cute video of ChamberFEST Cleveland’s father & daughter duo Franklin & Diana Cohen, a look at a new Flats festival, a preview of Mark Winegardner’s reading, pointers to the Waterloo Arts Festival, a ball of fun at Mahall’s, a ghost hunt in Kent, and a rock orchestra on the Fourth. We’re just keepin’ it mobile, social & local. All for you. –Thomas Mulready

ChamberFEST Cleveland
Bursting on the Music Scene with a BANG!

Rivergate Fest
Summertime Fun on the Mighty Cuyahoga

Louie Sainato has been a fixture in Northeast Ohio for decades. The restaurateur’s latest idea is to expand the visibility of his Rivergate Tavern with his own festival.

Sure, it sounds shameless, like nothing more than a marketing ploy to bring folks into his Columbus Avenue establishment. In fact, when you say it that way, that’s exactly what it is…

On October 19, 2006, Cool Cleveland’s Thomas Mulready interviewed Jimmy Dimora, who was then one of three Cuyahoga County Commissioners and Chairman of the Cuyahoga County Democratic party, and who was convicted of racketeering, bribery and 31 other corruption related charges on March 9, 2012.

This segment deals with Issue Three, which was on the ballot that November, nicknamed Learn & Earn, which proposed to allow slot machines and eventually casinos, with scholarship money going to students. Although the 2006 issue failed statewide, a different casino issue was eventually passed, resulting in casinos being opened in Ohio.

Cool Cleveland: Are we that desperate as a community?

Jimmy Dimora: We are.

Cool Cleveland: Is that what we’re saying to our children?
