Since opening in 2013, the Standard brought a taste of fine dining to North Collinwood’s somewhat shabby E. 185th Street strip, activating the area around the newly renovated LaSalle Theatre., and offering sophisticated twists on American comfort foods. In early 2016, the original team sold the place to Said Ouaddaadaa of Coventry Road’s Bodega. He added a lot of Mediterranean and North African touches to the menu, which continues to offer high-quality food at not-outrageous prices (if they seem a tad high, wait until you see the size of the potions!) in a chic, minimalist environment.
