Marilyn Oliver has been around Akron’s blues scene long enough to be dubbed by someone or another “Akron’s Own Queen of the Blues.”
As a singer/songwriter, she fronted Akron’s blues/R&B Relatively Jammin Blues Band, founded by her father Gary Oliver. She performed at this year’s rock and Soul Festival at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
For those who want to hear what she can do in an intimate listening environment, she’ll be performing as part of the Akron Civic Theatre’s cabaret series.
Tickets are $20 or two for $30. Call the box office at 330-253-2499, or order online.
