FREE: Vinyl Listening Party Features David Bowie

Wed 10/9 7:30PM

Cool Cleveland’s Thomas Mulready will deliver a free multi-media talk on the history of David Bowie on Wed 10/9 at 7:30PM in Gamble Auditorium in the Boesel Musical Arts Center on the campus of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea.

The video talk, open to the public and designed to heighten the listening of music students and music lovers, will include video excerpts, rare photos and an exploration of Bowie’s breakthroughs in music, theatre, video, film, fashion and sexuality.

Featuring a high fidelity turntable, the talk also demonstrates the differences between digital and analog audio and encourages focused listening with needle drops on various vinyl LPs throughout Bowie’s career, including career peaks such as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, as well as his surprising 2013 album, The Next Day. This is a BYOE event: Bring Your Own Ears.

The free event is not ticketed, but is expected to be well-attended. Be there for a chance to win a new Cool Cleveland t-shirt.
