A sure sign that middle-eastern food has become mainstream is its spread to far-flung suburbs like Strongsville. Locally owned La Kabob Lebanese Grill opened in May 2011 on a strip better known for fast food. La Kabob counters that with fresh, made-from-scratch food with the host of vegetarian choices, balanced with an equal number of meat items, typical of middle-eastern cuisine. Falafel, kibbie, hummus, shawarma, tabouli — all those once-exotic foods comprise a menu that’s now comfortably familiar to most of us.
