Distinctive ice cream flavors made on premises are driving a whole new crop of frozen dessert shops. Chill: An Artisan Ice Cream Company launched in downtown in the spring of 2015 and opened its second location on near the Akron Art Museum in downtown Akron in the summer of 2016. Owned by three young brothers, the shops feature gourmet ice cream flavors utilizing fresh ingredients, many from area farms, and all of it manufactured on site.
You can check out such exotic flavors as bacon butterscotch, cantaloupe and cream, cilentro lime margarita and vegan blueberry cardamon. Vanilla and chocolate are available, of course, but with their own spin and the richness quality ingredients and freshness offer.
