Shuffleboard has an image as something retirees in Florida do to pass time, but it’s becoming a hip new thing. Forest City Shuffleboard Arena & Bar opened in the rapidly growing Lorain Avenue corridor in Ohio City in the spring of 2017, bringing this low-energy “sport” to a new crowd. Following in the footsteps of its original Marblehead location, it features indoor shuffleboard courts, a patio with outdoor courts and even table shuffleboards for the truly lazy. Never played shuffleboard? Each court rental comes with an introductory lesson from a staff member. If you fall in love with shuffleboard, they’ve got leagues too!
There’s also a bar with local and regional beers, wine and cocktails and a “rotating” kitchen (different chefs take over for a month), for a full evening out.
